Dear Governor Kathy Hochul,
As a concerned citizen of New York State, I am urging your administration to act swiftly to build renewable energy, including offshore wind. I commend the recent steps you have taken and ask that you continue this momentum forward.
Climate change is upon us and is already causing damage to our coasts, flooding our homes, and harming our health. Fossil fuels are polluting our air and waterways and harming wildlife. Offshore wind will provide cleaner air, reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, stabilize energy prices, create family-sustaining jobs, and spur local manufacturing.
We cannot afford any more delays. It is crucial that we scale up offshore wind -- it can move us to a renewable energy future and create thousands of good union jobs. Please expedite the development and approval of existing and upcoming offshore wind projects.
